[009] Action

[It's mid-morning when Temari leaves her apartment. In the hours before lunch, she can be found tending her small garden on the roof, the plot of wildflowers next to the community building, and the flowers she's planted in the Memory Garden.

One for Kankuro and, now, one for Gaara.

She eats lunch at the small bridge on the south end of town. Afterward, she makes it a personal mission to go through each and every thing in the Item Shop. Never know when one might find something useful, after all.

After the Item Shop and stopping in the library for a few minutes, Temari makes her way to the barracks in the mid-afternoon. The training dummies are set to take a beating; Temari's working on some hand-to-hand today. She only gets a half hour of practice in before she sees the first droid.

She puts up a fight, but it's only minutes before she's dragged away. Do try not to be upset about the messed up dummy, or the kunai strewn about the place.]

True enough. For someone who finds wasted energy troublesome, it's amazing how much he wastes on complaining. [Except, he's not really been that bad. Still. It's something to talk about. Temari carefully trims back one of the larger plants.]

[Putting away the watering can, she then proceeds to examine the flowers. Yeah, Shikamaru's always a good topic. He's something they have in common, after all.]

He was far worse when we were kids, though. Every time he opens his mouth, he's complaining.

That complaining kid still beat me in the Exams.

[Ino chuckles when she hears her last word.] If I don't know any better, I'd say you're slowly beginning to be like him.

Yeah, doubt that. [But there's quiet laughter in her words.]

The last time I was on a rooftop, I was eating a pizza and drinking beer. I don't think you need to worry.

[Because Shikamaru needed company after Chouji disappeared for a few days.] No one's up there to steal my pizza. It was a nice day, too.

[Temari snorts, then shrugs.] He'd spent all day up there thinking. [She can empathize, watching both her brothers go home.] I brought food.

[She stands up and goes to refill the watering can. While doing so, she continues talking to Temari.] Why did you two hang out?

Chouji had gone home. He came back a few days later, but... [Shrug. It sucks when people you know go home and you're left behind. It hadn't been to long before that that Kankuro was sent home.]

[Her expression softens as she turns off the tap when she's finished.] I see. Now I wish I could have been there for him.

[Temari shrugs. As much as Ino may have wished to be there, she rather doubts that Shikamaru would wish Ino to be stuck in Luceti. Even so...]
