[[Luceti Valley, August 2-6]]
[Welcome to a catch-all post. Temari Law, sister to Trafalgar Law, is a displaced worker and former college student working odd jobs just to get by. She's pretty much everywhere -- except for, you know, high-end places. Not much call for odd jobs up there.
A typical day has her up early, for a run out to the farm before she heads over to campus because some of her former teachers are awesome enough to let her sit in on their classes. Afternoons usually find her over at Kirk's motorcycle shop, because if she has to do odd jobs to get by, she'll be happy enough to work on awesome bikes.
Or any bikes really, because they're cool.
Catch her anywhere or in-between any of it.]

August 4th?
[ He trotted into the shop, leather jacket still on and goggles around his neck as he held up the brown parcel in his hand, waving it excitedly, though it only shifted like there was a lot of whispering paper inside. As it should be, considering the item he had ordered from the company. It had been a hard one to get, and he couldn't find it from salvage on one of his consigned bikes.
So maybe he was a little excited, okay? ]
4th!
A box, looks like.
Re: 4th!
It's the piston! The piston!
[ You would think you could put just any piston in any bike, but that was just not so! And he had worked hard to get this piece and he was excited to get this baby sewn up and out.
He ran back to the Red Panther, sitting the box down like a holy relic and opening it. ]
Any trouble while I was gone?

She makes her over, because obviously she has to be part of this box opening event.]
Nope. Not unless you count a rusted bolt.

Good, good.
[ Clearly he's more focused on the box, opening it like he was unwrapped a Christmas gift and reaching inside, sifting through the paper and pulling out a long, shiny piece of metal - the piston. He beamed at it, caressing the smooth metal and inspecting it before he handed it over to Temari. ]
Take a look at that. Beautiful, right?

Pretty nice workmanship. [But okay, she can appreciate it, even if machinery isn't really her first love. She's come to like it well enough.]

[ He nodded excitedly and breathed out gently, as if his very breath could make the thing carbonize and rust. ]
Man, it's not often I get a chance to order one of these babies - or have a client willing to foot the bill for them either. Glad we snagged a true enthusiast on this bike.

Right? Half the time I'm making one of our girls for some rich boy with to much of daddy's money.
[ It made him sick, but he had to pay the bills. At least the kids would get some enjoyment out of them and he'd knew they'd get ridden. It was their purpose. He would hate to build one just to have it sit there like a plastic model. ]
Nope, this one is going to a loving home!

Chouji tries to get some work done around the farm before the school day starts. He isn't a morning person, but he has fought his natural tendencies long enough that it feels normal by now. It's worth it to do something for his brother's family. They do a lot for him.
no subject
"Hey, Chouji. How's it going?"
no subject
Then he grimaces. "But it's summer. And that means much more weeding than anyone should ever have to do." Fields and orchards are fine on their own, as are berry bushes and brambles, but all of the vegetables are prone to being choked by weeds. While he talks, Chouji crouches back down and pulls some more of said invasive plants. He doesn't mind, really. The vegetables will make up for it when he gets to eat some of them.
no subject
"It's not that bad. Plants need someone to take care of 'em, you know."
no subject
As for her other point, he sighs, shaking his head. "I know they do. It'll be worth it when we get to harvest the vegetables, but weeding's pretty tedious in the meantime." Chouji's voice doesn't hold much frustration, and his hands are still busy pulling weeds. Temari probably knows by now that the complaints will vanish by the time he finishes waking up. Chouji may be used to mornings, but that doesn't mean he likes them.
no subject
She does grin at his complaints, though. "Didn't sleep well?"
no subject
Chouji shrugs, replying. "It's just too early to be up and working. I'll get over it, I promise." He smiles.
no subject
"You'll figure it out -- even if you have to get up early to do it."
no subject
That makes him chuckle, and he nods again. "I suppose I will, but I might have to declare the alarm clock my arch enemy."

3rd
Which is why Law decides to just show up on Temari's doorstep with an advertisement for the movie theatre. Care for The War of the Worlds? His treat.
They can gorge themselves on concession food. Because he's too tired to cook and he suspects Temari is too.
Knock, knock.]

Hey, you better be--
[Oh. Guess it's not a salesman. Her tone immediately lightens.] --better be my brother. Come on in.

[And he doesn't know whether to call them stupid or brave in venturing into his neighborhood.
Wait. Stupid.
They had not headed for the hills after seeing his face at the door. There are certain dangers in pulling a man out of his well earned shower.]

[Good Lord, she could use a minute's worth of peace.] What's up?
August 6th > pretend I'm not late
[Mr. Cigars-Forever Man over here is working on some post engine assembly of a clearly custom bike.]
[Feel free to say hi. The goggles are on, but he doesn't bite people. Just cigars.]
August 6th > no one is ever late
Almost got it?
August 6th > You say and then a month later....

It's not looking like it is in my head though. Too many missing pieces I guess.

Feed pipe, spark plug lead, camshaft gear, crankcase, and crank shaft. [Ticks them off on one hand.] Probably a few other things I can't think of too.

Still a bit of work to get done.
