[Welcome to a catch-all post. Temari Law, sister to Trafalgar Law, is a displaced worker and former college student working odd jobs just to get by. She's pretty much everywhere -- except for, you know, high-end places. Not much call for odd jobs up there.

A typical day has her up early, for a run out to the farm before she heads over to campus because some of her former teachers are awesome enough to let her sit in on their classes. Afternoons usually find her over at Kirk's motorcycle shop, because if she has to do odd jobs to get by, she'll be happy enough to work on awesome bikes.

Or any bikes really, because they're cool.

A run out to the farm leads Temari to one of its workers, and Chouji waves as soon as he looks up to notice. "Hey, Temari!"

Chouji tries to get some work done around the farm before the school day starts. He isn't a morning person, but he has fought his natural tendencies long enough that it feels normal by now. It's worth it to do something for his brother's family. They do a lot for him.

She raises a hand in greeting, already grinning at him. She genuinely likes Chouji; working at the farm wouldn't be as bearable as it was without him and his cheer around.

"Hey, Chouji. How's it going?"

"Pretty well! The summer vegetables are looking good, and I don't think we've ever gotten quite as many blackberries as we have this year. You should take a pint home with you."

Then he grimaces. "But it's summer. And that means much more weeding than anyone should ever have to do." Fields and orchards are fine on their own, as are berry bushes and brambles, but all of the vegetables are prone to being choked by weeds. While he talks, Chouji crouches back down and pulls some more of said invasive plants. He doesn't mind, really. The vegetables will make up for it when he gets to eat some of them.

"It means," she replies as she comes closer, "more work." Which means more jobs which means she can put food on her table -- and maybe even sometimes have a little leftover for a fun thing now and again. She crouches down next to him and begins to work with her own patch of weeds.

"It's not that bad. Plants need someone to take care of 'em, you know."

He sobers a little at that, knowing how hard Temari's had to scramble. "There does always seem be a shortage of that. How's it going elsewhere?"

As for her other point, he sighs, shaking his head. "I know they do. It'll be worth it when we get to harvest the vegetables, but weeding's pretty tedious in the meantime." Chouji's voice doesn't hold much frustration, and his hands are still busy pulling weeds. Temari probably knows by now that the complaints will vanish by the time he finishes waking up. Chouji may be used to mornings, but that doesn't mean he likes them.

She shrugs at the question. "Same old, same old." She pulls a weed and tosses it aside. "A few of the professors are letting me attend classes when I can, but honestly, I'm not sure how much good it'll do, you know? They aren't exactly counting toward graduation right now." But it's a process, she supposes, and worth it just the same. Maybe.

She does grin at his complaints, though. "Didn't sleep well?"

"Maybe later they'd let you test out of the courses, give you the credits that way?" This would depend on her being able to be a fully enrolled student, but they can hope. "At least you're trying. I have no idea what I'm doing after high school graduation. I can't rely on Luke and Ami forever."

Chouji shrugs, replying. "It's just too early to be up and working. I'll get over it, I promise." He smiles.

She shrugs in response. "Depends on the professor and the course, really, I think." In all honesty, she doesn't quite know but she doesn't want to just give up on it entirely.

"You'll figure it out -- even if you have to get up early to do it."

Nodding, Chouji says, "I'll hope you get helpful and understanding professors, then."

That makes him chuckle, and he nods again. "I suppose I will, but I might have to declare the alarm clock my arch enemy."

"If the day comes," she says solemnly (while weeding, of course,) "that you must declare open war upon it, do be sure to call upon your allies."
