[If her voice is anything to go by, she's annoyed. Very annoyed. Her finger taps the journal for a second and she snorts before she speaks again.] If this doesn't straighten itself out soon...

[She lets herself trail off, because there's really no threat she can make that she can follow through on anyway.] This is ridiculous.

Hm... well, the experimental shift went on for a long period of time. I wonder if it has anything to do with that... or if it's an unrelated side effect to something else. It seems too soon for it to have been done on purpose.

I'm not quite sure what to make of it; it's some sort of shift, yeah, but... [She shrugs, lets her voice trail off.]

It's too subtle. The usual experimental shifts usually mess with us in a more overt manner than this. These are... oddities.

That's why I'm a little concerned. It's... off.

It's not the first time we've experienced effects that have seemed subtle or unrelated to usual experiment activity, though it's been a while.

[dangerouswind]

[Temari makes a noise of assent.] We'll just have to keep an eye out for worse, I guess.

Or to any other peculiar happenings. Whether it's something that will disappear or lead to something larger... well, all we can do is observe.

That's all we ever seem to do.

Unfortunately we don't have the option of doing much else.

I think I could wager a good guess. Most of us are used to creating our own action, even when being surrounded by odds. Here the opportunities are much scarcer, and we don't even have the whole story of what we're dealing with.

We do have some pieces, though. Not enough to create a whole picture, but enough to make some educated guesses.

[wise_maiden]

Indeed. [ She would know, having gathered them for over six years. ] We do what we can.

You ever feel like it's not enough? Too much?

[wise_maiden]

It's definitely not enough. We have pieces that we can guesswork from, but even then those pieces come still from a limited perspective. You can't subscribe fully to one theory because of what may come along to debunk it. I do think we're a lot further along than when we first started, so there is that.
