[She's muttering to herself here. What the journal picks up will be quiet and somewhat disjointed -- and definitely irritated.] Some kind of communications device, then. It seems a bit... bulky. I wonder... [Pause. There's a rhythmic tapping for a few moments.] Damn it.
[The sound of pages rustling. She clears her throat then and speaks loudly and forcefully.] Luceti. I've never heard of it. There's some sort of guide floating around that I've taken a look at, but I want to hear it from someone personally. Just why have I been brought here?
I have questions that need answered. It would be very much appreciated if someone would step up and start talking.
Start answering, or I start leveling the forest. [There's a pause and then a muttered:] If anyone even cares about the forest. Where the hell is this place? [It's obvious now that she's talking to herself. Journal? What journal?] Definitely not the cave I left. Nowhere near it; the place didn't look a thing like this.
[She trails off, muttering once in awhile about not knowing of anyone in the Bingo Book that can do something like this and about illusions cast before she abruptly cuts herself off. Right. Journal. Recording. She huffs.]
Damn it.
[End transmission.]

[Voice]
I want real clothes, Shikamaru. Mind pointing me in the right direction? [And her fan. And her fan.]
[Voice]
As for your clothes, they'd be in town. [Yes, your fan's there too. Now have some strange numbers and symbols.]
[Filtered]
Wanna tell me where you're at? Might be faster for me to just show you.
[Voice]
[Ah-ha. She sees that. She will be learning how you do that before long. Definitely learning that.]
[Filtered]
You'd go that far outta your way for little ol' me? How chivalrous of you. [Just a small pause here, because as much as she loves teasing him, she recognizes the value of a friendly hand right about now.]
I'm next to a clearing. There's a lake -- not too big -- just to the east. Apart from that, I can't tell you much.
[Voice]
[Filtered]
[He rolls his eyes... but doesn't bother saying how far out of the way that is.] How troublesome... I think I know where that is though. If you wanna head to the lake, I can meet you there. That'll be a lot easier to find.
[Plus it sticks you closer to the trees - thus, more cover should you need it.]
[Voice]
[Filtered]
No. Troublesome is what it's gonna be if you don't get here soon. [Grunt. Sigh. Mutter.] I'm headed that way. [And, yes. In the trees. That's why she's not still in the middle of the clearing she woke up in.]
[There's a pause. Just enough to have a short internal debate about even asking the question.] Eh, Shikamaru? What's with the additions here?
[Because Konoha-green wings are really damned freaky, okay?]
[Voice] Might be a bit clow - off to work now. >.>
[Filtered]
[So demanding, woman.] Yeah, yeah, I'm hurrying. [Luckily he was already in town... next is the forest, and he takes to the trees.]
Everyone has them. They're part of the general makeup of the people that are native to this place - Filials, if I remember right. Don't try messing with them; just losing a couple of feathers can make you sick.
[Voice] no worries~ I have class/drive home before too long
[Filtered]
Great. That's wonderful.
Are they... all the same color? [Yes, the green bothers her that much. No, she's not going to admit it. Ever.]
[Voice]
[Filtered]
There's a few colors. Why? What'd you get?
[Voice]
[Filtered]
Not important. I just wondered.
[Pause] I'm at the lake's edge. [And up in the trees, but she figures he knows that. She won't be immediately in line of sight.]
[Voice]
[Filtered]
[A sigh. But whatever, he'll see it when he finds her.]
Got it. I'll try not to keep you waiting long. [Despite the sarcasm, he means that.] Talk with Chouji while you wait - he should be able to answer most of your questions. [And Shikamaru can answer the rest when he gets there.]
[Voice]
[Filtered]
Right. Right. Don't get lost.
[Voice | Action]
Deciding that he really doesn't feel like running around and looking for her, the journal comes back out. Obviously he wouldn't be talking if he hadn't arrived.]
Hey, I said they were comfortable too.
[Action]
Over here.
[And with that, she closes the journal, drops out of the tree, and lands easily. Bright leaf green wings and all.]</small.
[Action]
Green? [As in... 'What's wrong with green?' He tosses the knapsack towards her - in it she'll find normal people clothes. Probably not her clothes, because he didn't take the time to look, but it's more weather-appropriate. And liveable.] Could be worse. There's people running around with rainbow wings and polka dots.
[Action]
[She catches the knapsack and looks in it, smile -- the not quite so scary one -- spreading over her features.] 'Bout damn time. It's getting cold out here.
[She pauses, clothes in hand.] You're gonna turn around, aren't you?
[Action]
[Action]
[Oh God, warmth. She could hug you right now, Shikamaru. She really could. She only pauses in her mad dash to get real clothes on when the wings present a problem, but manages to get even them under the clothes. She's cold, okay?]
You said messing up feathers could make me sick, yeah? They always this sore?
[Action]
Give it a week or two and that'll pass. Icing them helps. Hope you're not used to sleeping on your back though; that gets uncomfortable. [They're not so great for cloud watching either, which might upset him more. Priorities?]
[Action]
It's not like they actually hurt. [Huffiness gives way to amusement.] First you're getting me to strip in the woods and now you're talking about sleeping habits. Two months in Luceti's changed you, kid.
[Action]
He almost cringes at that, BUT RESISTS. Oh no, not giving her the satisfaction. She'll probably get enough from the annoyed tone in his voice.]
Troublesome woman... You're right. I was finally getting used to having some peace and quiet for once.
[Action]
Well, those days are over. You'll get fat and lazy otherwise. [Pause.] Er. Well. Fat, anyway.
[Action]
Heh. Don't worry. This place goes to hell in a handbasket often enough that even I can't get too complacent. [As she might have seen in the guide.]
[Action]
I'm assuming there's some sort of shelter in town. Somewhere. Hopefully. [Because it's cold, damn it all.]
[Action]
There's a whole village. Free food and housing; you have your pick of seven different apartment buildings. [He finally turns his head in her direction again, trusting she's dressed by now.] Your fan is in the weapons shop, by the way. I checked before I came out here.
